German Finance Minister Christian Lindner expressed regret that China blocked the final communiqué of the G20 finance ministers’ meeting condemning Russia’s war in Ukraine.
“But it is more important for me that everyone else shares a clear position on international law, multilateralism and ending the war,” added the German finance minister.
Christian Lindner also said he remains cautiously optimistic about the prospects for progress in debt restructuring of over-indebted countries.
It is noted that China is one of the largest creditors to the poor countries of Africa and Asia.
