The head of the Department of Emergency Situations, Raed Arafat, recommends that those who go to various activities, such as extracurriculars or meetings that take place in seismic risk class I buildings, avoid staying in such buildings. “You have to be responsible for yourself. You don’t enter a space that is seismically dangerous, unless it is absolutely necessary, and you know about it that it is a seismic hazard of the 1st class,” says the head of DSU.
When asked at a press conference on Saturday what he recommends to those participating in activities in premises classified as seismically dangerous, where various courses are held, cafes are created or other types of activities are held, Raed Arafat said that he did not may recommend that no one stay in a building with a high seismic risk if they are not required to be there, News.ro reports.
“If you know that the location is a seismic risk class I and that you are dangerous there, I’m sorry, but you better not go. This means that you have to be responsible for yourself. You do not enter a space unless you are really forced into a space that is a seismic risk and you know about it that it has a seismic risk class I. I cannot say to enter (…) Unless you are forced to enter a space with a seismic risk, you do not enter,” said Raed Arafat.
