Authorities said a young gunman opened fire on a film crew covering a murder scene near Orlando, Florida on Wednesday, killing a reporter and injuring a cameraman.

The 19-year-old suspect, identified by police as Keith Melvin Moses, was arrested shortly after the shooting. He is also charged with the murder of a 9-year-old girl and a woman in her 20s and 30s, Orange County Sheriff John Mina said at a news conference.

According to Sheriff Mina, the crew included a reporter and cameraman from the local cable television station Spectrum News 13.

He added that the young man, who has a large criminal record, will be prosecuted for three murders and two attempted murders.

He allegedly killed a young woman in a car hours before he killed a nine-year-old girl and wounded his mother.

According to Mr. Mina, the motives for any of the attacks are not clear. However, Keith Melvin Moses is believed to have known the first victim.

The sheriff stressed that he could not yet assess whether and to what extent the film crew harassed the young man because they were covering him, or because they broke into the home of the young victim and her mother.
