These are two data obtained as a result of research carried out by the McKinsey company for Panorama and included in the documentary Why we live today for tomorrow. The complex history of Romanians’ relationship with money”.
Behind these percentages is more than half of the country that is completely vulnerable and at risk of poverty. There are people in the wind – economic, political and security.
As you can see, we are not living in a time that is patient with these people. The world is in a vortex of crises and resettlement, tension on many levels. At the same time, the statistics, which leave no room for nuance, contain millions of personal stories, different family budgets, all with their own peculiarities and limitations.
In this context, we see that we are getting more and more advice about the weight that we should deduct from the salary. These are recipes based on the undeniable reality that financial education in Romania is still poor and the way we treat money is chaotic. But my miracle recipe may be difficult for those of you who have different needs and financial capabilities.
