Jessica Pegula (WTA 4) continued her perfect run from Doha on Friday and edged past Maria Sakkari (WTA 7) after a match that lasted 121 minutes.

After a controlled first set, the American struggled in the second act, when Maria Sakkari managed to fight back from 2-4 down to take the match to a decisive moment.

In the third set, Pegula lost only one game to Maria Sakkari and reached the final stage of the tournament.

There, Jessica Pegula will meet the winner of the duel Iga Svyatek (1 WTA) – Veronika Kudermetova (11 WTA).

The Qatar TotalEnergies Open (from Doha) runs from February 13 to 18 on hard, is part of the WTA 500 category, has a total prize pool of $780,637, and the title is won by Iga Sviatek (title won in 2022).
