Doctors on Thursday found 80-year-old US President Joe Biden healthy and “fit for duty” after a medical examination, reports AFP.

Doctors also found that the president has no lingering symptoms of COVID after he tested positive for the coronavirus last year.

“The president remains fit for duty and is fully performing all of his duties without any exemptions or accommodations,” White House physician Kevin O’Connor said at the conclusion of the medical examination. Biden is “an 80-year-old man, healthy and vigorous,” he wrote.

The test has been closely watched by the media and the public as Biden prepares for his expected bid for a second term in 2024.

It concluded that Biden had no symptoms of “long-term COVID infection” and that his stiff gait had not worsened since his last exam in November 2012.

Biden’s three-hour session with doctors at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, a suburb of Washington, Maryland, was his second major test since taking office in January 2021.
