With the approach of spring and summer, The British manufacturer presents the new Cooper SE Convertibleone of the first electric convertibles on the market.

Adopting the same recipe as the classic model, the convertible places an even greater emphasis on exclusivity, as the car will only be produced in 999 copieseverything is intended exclusively for the European market.

From auto show to reality

As can be seen from the available photos, the new Mini Cooper SE Cabriolet looks like two drops of water from the concept car presented in the United States in July 2022. The new Mini Cooper SE Cabriolet is available in Enigmatic Black and White Silver. “, while the door handles, side caps and optical bezels are finished in “Resolute Bronze”. The car also features black Mini logos and ‘1/999’ lettering on the door sills and side panels.

17-inch light-alloy wheels made entirely of recycled aluminum are exclusive to this model, and on board we find sports seats with Mini Yours Leather Lounge upholstery. The seats are heated, which is enough to enjoy this pleasant convertible even in not-so-summery temperatures.

Inside, the Mini Cooper SE Cabriolet is a near replica of the classic version, with a Nappa leather steering wheel, Piano Black surfaces and yellow accents echoing its engine.

We also find an infotainment system in the center of the dashboard and a head-up display. Each model is equipped with active cruise control with the Stop&Go function and all the functions of the Mini Driving Assistant package. The volume of the luggage compartment was slightly reduced from 210 liters for the Cooper SE to 160 liters for a convertible. Probably have to make some allowances for luggage for a weekend for two.

A total of 201 km of autonomy

There are no changes under the hood. The Mini Cooper SE is still powered by a front-mounted electric motor 184 hp. Accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h 7.3 secondsand the calculated power reserve of the battery is 32.6 kWh 201 km according to the WLTP cycleor about twenty kilometers less than in the usual version.

The Mini Cooper SE is no longer available and starts at €36,400 in France, excluding the €5,000 environmental bonus in 2023. This convertible version should exceed 40,000 euros without bonuses.
