Banksy returns for Valentine’s Day with mural against domestic violence

It wasn’t until February 14 that Banksy confirmed that a mural in Margate, England, bears his signature.

The mural depicts a 1950s housewife with a swollen eye and missing tooth locking a man in a freezer.

Banksy posted a photo of his work on his Instagram page on Valentine’s Day, and many netizens said he wanted to send a message about the fight against domestic violence and violence against women with his work.

The subversive artist titled his work “Valentine’s Day Mascara” and posted close-up shots of a smiling battered woman.

It is noted that Banksy has already created works of art for Valentine’s Day in the past, including a piece that appeared three years ago in Bristol, which is also believed to be his birthplace.

In December, Banksy announced that he had created 50 silkscreens that would be sold to raise money for the people of Ukraine.
