Target programs for 200,000 subsidized jobs they are expected to “start up” during 2023 with the goal of a sharp reduction. unemployment. Based on the programs described last Sunday by the Prime Minister himself. Kyriakos Mitsotakisparticipating in Career Days, DYPA, aims to bring the unemployment rate below 10% by 2024.
According to the Prime Minister, about 200,000 subsidized jobs will be created in the coming period at the expense of the Recovery Fund and the new NSFR. In fact, as noted by Minister of Labor Kostis Hatzidakis, DYPA’s contribution is already decisive, as more than 100,000 new jobs have been created through active employment programs.
In particular, according to DYPA administrator Spyros Protopsaltis, the new generation employment programs have recruited more than 109,000 people in 42 months, a record number that equates to nearly 2,600 recruitments per month. In practice, this means that the recruitment rate has more than tripled (+240%) from the previous 4.5 years, as the total number of recruitments was 41,155 between 2015 and July 2019, which equates to 762 per month.
DYPA’s goal is to create 201,000 jobs over the next period through actions funded by the Recovery Fund, NSRF and existing programs.
In particular, 68,000 vacancies will be filled with money from the Recovery Fund. In fact, since December, the first 30,000 vacancies have been opened for young and elderly unemployed for a period of 7 to 18 months. The recipient’s salary starts at the lowest, namely 713 euros, and goes up to 951 euros for the long-term unemployed.
In addition, the program with a total budget of 112.3 million euros, financed from the Recovery Fund, will be implemented in two cycles and will affect unemployed mothers returning to the labor market after raising children, long-term unemployed for more than 2 years, people over 55 who are unemployed more than 12 months, as well as persons with a very low level of education, members of single-parent families and Roma.
They are also expected to launch programs for the 38,000 unemployed by May, with a focus on women and the green economy. They will be tested in cities with high unemployment and in countries with economies in transition.
At the same time, DYPA is planning programs for 111,000 jobs to be funded by the new NSRF. It will include new activities, counseling and training and will target women, youth and the long-term unemployed, while another 22,000 jobs are or will be “working” directly with other programs.
