Immediate action to protect the main residence of weak borrowers from auctions and extortion of funds, according to him, required Nikos Androulakis speaking tonight at the meeting in Acharnes.
Mr. Androulakis explained in detail the legislative initiative of K.O. from PASOK – Movement for Changewhich includes, among other things, the reinstatement of the 2010 PASOK Primary Residence Protection Act with updated criteria.
“We demand the protection of agricultural land so that the Greek economy does not de-Hellenize,” he added and recalled that “PASOK, at the most critical moment of 2010, with the toughest troika against him, was negotiating to protect the first residence. Who delivered the “red loans” to the funds? Maybe Mr Tsipras? Could it be that the one who told the Greek people “seisachtia, don’t pay” was the one who gave the “red loans” to the funds that extort Greek citizens today? So let’s remember the great words and where they led those who “gave hope” to the Greek people. Hope turned into disappointment and resentment,” stressed the President of PASDOQ – Movement for Change, criticizing Alexis Tsipras and SYRIZA.
The President of PASOK – Movement for Change spoke of a new generation of the underprivileged who demand substantial social cohesion and solidarity. SMEs “who see growth, investment, Recovery Fund resources and an energy transition destined for a vicious circle of Maximus beneficiaries”, the middle class, the weakest, lowest paid and low-income pensioners saying that “inflation and the energy crisis are cutting their incomes” but also young people “who are looking for good jobs and opportunities to spread their wings.”
“The recovery fund is not enough. There should be a European Economic Sovereignty Fund. The manufacturing base of Europe cannot be in the hands of the Chinese, and its security in the hands of the Americans. For us social democrats, these funds are needed not for bribery in Greece, but for the emergence of a sustainable society and a competitive economy,” Nikos Androulakis emphasized, repeating the proposal he presented at the summit of European socialists.
Mr. Androulakis criticized the prime minister pointing out that “Kyriakos Mitsotakis was elected with a mandate to heal the wound of discredit in institutions left by the SYRIZA-ANEL government, and instead, with his nephew as an architect, he exposed the country through institutional sabotage. He is slipping into an arrogant regime without any reformist spirit.”
In the same time pointed the arrows of his criticism at Alexis Tsipras and a leading official opposition group for their insinuations and fake news. “Unfortunately, you have convincingly demonstrated that in the face of this serious insult to New Democracy, your interest is not in democracy and strengthening institutions, but in how to steal a few votes in order to do better in parliamentary elections. This is another one of our value differences,” said Mr. Androulakis.
On the eve of the elections, he addressed the voters with an appeal: “We call on the Greek people, for whatever party they voted for in the last elections, to join us. We share the concern about institutions, democracy, fair development and the prospects it deserves. We deserve much more than what SYRIZA and New Democracy have been offering in recent years,” commenting sharply on those who left PASOK KINAL and joined the ND ballots. “For those who have made the decision to become the golden airport transfer, all I have to say is that PASOK is not a job search office. If they want to work for New Democracy – as they did with SYRIZA a few years ago – good luck!” Mr. Androulakis said. On the occasion of the debate he opened on the anti-seismic protection of the country, he proposed among other things:
- VAT exemption for static management costs
- Use of funds from fines of violators for the costs of static reinforcement of old public buildings
- Give priority to screenings in hospitals and schools
- A static control must be carried out every time a radical renovation of a building, public or not, is approved or funded.
