Arne Espeel played for the second team of the Belgians with Winkel Sport B, and the goalkeeper started in the match against Winkel Sport, which took place the day before.

As reported in RMC Sport, parents and brother were at the match when the tragic event happened.
“Winkel Sport is deeply saddened by the sudden death of goalkeeper Arne Espil. We extend our sincere condolences to Arne’s family and friends on this great loss. Football takes a back seat for a while.” – says the club’s official press release.
