Diplomatic sources: Greece will continue to provide support to the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria

The undivided readiness of the Greek government to continue to support the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria was expressed by a senior diplomatic source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the sidelines of the event for cutting the New Year’s cake of the ministry.

As he characteristically emphasized, it is very important that our neighboring country endure after this great tragedy.

He also mentioned that Turkey’s main needs now are containers and winter tents, and there is no need to send a new EMAK crew.

“The main thing at the moment is to be useful to Turkish society with both a bilateral and a European hat,” the same source noted.

On Monday, the Foreign Affairs Council will discuss the issue of Syria and how best to organize the relief mission.

At the cake-cutting ceremony, held for the first time since the pandemic, Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias thanked the Deputy Minister, Deputy Ministers, Secretaries General and all Ministry officials “for the great efforts made, under difficult conditions all these years.”

“We have done our duty,” Mr. Dendias said, and highlighted the enormous scope and scope for a foreign policy that can operate beyond our own horizon.

“Greece has grown thanks to the efforts of all of us,” he said, referring to the expansion to 12 nautical miles of territorial waters in the Ionian Sea.

The flag was won by Vice Admiral Alexandros Diakopoulos.
