“Despite constant enemy pressure, we are still in control of Bakhmut and are taking measures to stabilize the front line around this city,” the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny told US Army Chief of Staff Mark Milli in a telephone conversation.

He also reported that the situation in the Donetsk region in the east of Ukraine is tense and that Moscow is firing up to 50 times a day in this area.

Zaluzhnyi also stated that intense fighting is taking place around the cities of Vugledar and Maryinka.

“In some areas of the front, we managed to restore previously lost positions and create an outpost there,” he explained.

The commander-in-chief also said that Ukrainian forces need powerful firepower, which means a sufficient number of weapons and ammunition.

Zaluzhnyi also noted that he thanked Milli for Washington’s support and welcomed the American general’s understanding of Ukraine’s needs in the fight against Russia and achieving victory.
