Olena Rybakina will not play at the WTA in Doha
Having qualified for the quarter-finals in Abu Dhabi (where she will face Beatrice Haddad Maia on Friday), Rybakina has played a lot in this season opener and the Australian Open finalist says she needs a break.
The tournament in Doha (category WTA 500) will start on February 13, immediately after the conclusion of the tournament in Abu Dhabi.
The most important thing for Elena will be participation in the WTA Dubai tournament (highest category – WTA 1000), which will be held from February 19 to 25.
Rybakina, who entered the world TOP-10 for the first time after the final of the Australian Open, is one of the most prepared athletes at the beginning of the year. She has 7 wins and 3 losses.
Ons Jabert, Aryna Sabalenko, Bianca Andreescu and GarbiƱe Muguruza are also on the list of important players who will miss WTA Doha.
“Unfortunately, I will not go to Doha. I can’t wait to go back there next year, but this time I won’t be visiting. As far as the schedule goes, it’s been quite a challenge with a lot of travel. I played really well in Melbourne, so I’d better rest and prepare for next week (without participating in Dubai)” – Olena Rybakina.
