A video posted on Twitter by Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu shows a Syrian boy, Muhammed Ahmed, trapped under rubble, being given water from a bottle cap by rescuers.

According to the mayor, operational teams managed to save the boy.

In the bitter cold, rescuers raced against time to save victims of the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck southeast Turkey and neighboring northern Syria at dawn on Monday.

The city of Antakya lies on the ground, drowned in a thick cloud of dust from machines that are looking for rubble. There are completely or partially destroyed buildings as far as the eye can see.
