Hublot’s “harvest” is rich for 2023. Like every year, the Swiss company presented its first creations in early January as part of the LVMH Group Watchmaking Week, which took place this year in Singapore. There were many new models, and they were extremely interesting due to the complexity of the mechanism, advanced technologies, the combination of precious stones, the variety of sizes and materials of manufacture. Let’s get to know them better…

HABLOT Classical merger Original

Hublot is bringing back the watch that made it famous in 1980. Refined and sporty, they had a gold case and a simple rubber strap around the wrist, an originality that many considered sacrilegious at the time. Where has anyone ever heard of combining a noble metal like gold with a base material like rubber? This heretical idea took root among the sophisticated, who were looking for something else, stirring up the waters of high watchmaking art. Thus was born the concept of synthesis, that is, the mixing of seemingly incompatible materials.

The Hublot Classic Fusion Original now returns in yellow gold, black ceramic and titanium in three sizes: 33mm, 38mm and 42mm. The distinctive case, reminiscent of a ship’s porthole, has a six-screw bezel and a transparent sapphire crystal on the back, through which the automatic movement is visible. It comes with a rubber strap and a glossy black lacquered dial.

HABLOT Classic Fusion Gold Crystal Ceramic 42mm

In 2020, Hublot introduced two Classic Fusion ceramic models, 38mm and 45mm in diameter, globally exclusive, with the dial set with gold leaf crystals. This year the Swiss company is back with another watch with the same dial, this time with a diameter of 42 mm. Its case here is also made of black ceramic, the HUB1110 automatic movement is inside, and the dial again looks like a rare work of art.

Its design is not at all simple. This is because when gold is mined, it is in the form of flakes. It requires extremely complex processing at Hublot’s R&D department to achieve a crystalline consistency. In fact, gold is in the purest form, i.e. 24 carats. The result is crystals of various shapes and sizes, each in its own way. Then a skilled craftsman carefully places such crystals on the dial and fixes them on the plate with twenty layers of a special transparent varnish. All work is done under vacuum to prevent air bubbles from forming. The watch has a black alligator leather strap with a rubber interior. Its price is 22,000 euros.

HABLOT Big slam Unico soray

Hublot has been supporting the non-profit organization SORAI Save Our Rhinos Africa India since 2019. It is an initiative by former international cricketer and Hublot Ambassador Kevin Pietersen to protect the endangered rhino due to poaching. This is the third collection model created by Hublot for SORAI.

As in the previous two, part of the income will be given to the needs of the organization. This is an automatic chronograph produced in a limited edition of 100 pieces. The case with a diameter of 44 mm is made of matte gray ceramic, and the colors of the dial and strap are reminiscent of African sunsets. And the reason, unfortunately, is not at all romantic, but serves as a sad reminder: when the sun goes down, poachers are usually active. The price of the watch is 25,200 euros.

HABLOT Big Bang UNICO Integrated Rainbow and Big Bang Time Only Rainbow

Gemstones – rubies, amethysts, blue topazes, chavorites and sapphires of all shades (pink, orange, blue and yellow) – adorn these two hours back to back, creating a color palette that spans the entire spectrum of the rainbow.

The case and bezel of the Big Bang Integrated Chronograph are set with 174 jewels and a further 768 jewels on the bracelet. 176 and 748 jewels adorn the Time Only case/bezel and bracelet, respectively. Each gem has its own unique hue and is carefully selected by Hublot’s experienced jewelers one by one. The price of a chronograph is 176,000 euros, while a simple automatic is 165,000 euros.

HABLOT Big Bang One Click Sapphire Diamonds 39 mm

The transparent sapphire watch in a collector’s edition of 200 pieces is part of Hublot’s new 2023 collection. They have a diameter of 39 mm, the bezel is set with 42 diamonds and they are equipped with an automatic HUB1710 movement with a 50-hour power reserve. . Its price is 66,000 euros.

HABLOT Spirit Big Bang Tourbillon 5-Day Power Reserve

At the dawn of 2023, two striking tourbillon models were introduced: the first in blue with a carbon fiber case and blue microfiber glass bezel, and the second in purple with a clear sapphire crystal case. They measure 42mm and are powered by the HUB6020 caliber. , a skeletonized winding movement from Hublot’s own production that offers an impressive battery life of a full 115 hours (5 days).

At the end they left the star of the group. This transparent watch of unusually complex design is made in a dazzling neon yellow color, unprecedented in the art of watchmaking. Compared to all the other colors of the rainbow, yellow is a strong, intense color that seems to glow from within.

In this case, an intense fluorescent yellow color was chosen, which required the use of space technology to achieve. Saxem (WITHapfir Aaluminum aboutXide and rare Eart Mineral) is an alloy of aluminum oxide (which is a key component of sapphire) and rare earth elements such as thulium, holmium and chromium. It is extremely durable and shines more intensely than sapphire. Commonly used in satellite and laser technologies, this is a one-of-a-kind material that Hublot used again a few years ago in 2019 in the Big Bang MP-11. The 44 mm watch is equipped with an automatic manufactory tourbillon movement, a transparent sapphire crystal dial and a transparent striped yellow rubber strap. The Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Saxem Yellow Neon is a collector’s edition of only 50 pieces. Price: 220,000 euros.
