What was once the island’s ancient slave market hosted a spectacular concert by the European Union Youth Orchestra, broadcast to millions of television viewers, with soloists Ukrainian violinist Diana Tysenko and Greek lyre player Sokratis Sinopoulos. They performed Vivaldi’s The Four (Indefinite) Seasons. It was the idea of ​​the World Human Forum called “Alpha Mission – Delos”, which had a worldwide radiation. The idea was simple: rising sea levels had begun to erode the shores of the island, the sacred center of the ancient world. So there has never been a more perfect place to send an SOS signal to save the Earth and make a call so that the wisdom of the ancestors “meet” with the technologies that humanity has developed today. The initiative was named Alpha after Delos-born Apollo and Artemis, as well as the Apollo mission that put the first man on the moon, and the Artemis mission that will take the first woman in 2025. to the moon.
