The President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, went to the port of Piraeus this evening and distributed food to the homeless.

With her, in addition to the “Doctors of the World”, were two former homeless people who have now joined the programs, as well as the general secretary of the organization “Social Solidarity and the Fight against Poverty” Giorgos Stamatis.

Compared to last year, the number of homeless people in the port of Piraeus has noticeably decreased, as many have now moved into the structures, joining the relevant programs.

Portions were prepared by the chef of the President of the Republic Vassilis Bekas.

Afterwards, Ms. Sakellaropoulou visited the UNESCO Group Social Inclusion Framework in Piraeus and the Islands and discussed with the guests the challenges they face, emphasizing the importance of solidarity.
