Carlo Ancelotti says Real Madrid will fight for the title until the last moment

Without Ferland Mendy, Karim Benzema and Thibaut Courtois (injured before the start of the game), Real Madrid lost away to Mallorca.

Nacho Fernandez scored an own goal and Marco Asensio fired home from 11 yards against the Spanish champions.

There are currently 5 points between Barcelona and Real Madrid, with Xavi’s team also having a game in hand.

At the press conference at the end of the match, Carlo Ancelotti was quite disappointed with the poor performance of his students.

“We are devastated. A quickly conceded goal and a missed penalty finally demoralized us and decided the final outcome of the game. Now we have to focus on the Club World Cup. We look forward to it.” – said Carlo Ancelotti.

When asked if he would introduce other players from the starting 11, Carlo Ancelotti responded immediately and he was quite clear.

“What if I got the first 11 wrong? I couldn’t play Toni Kroos because he wasn’t 100 percent and Luka Modric needed a rest. We will fight for the title until the end. It’s not the end yet. There are still enough matches.

I had Asensio take the penalty instead of Rodrigo because I thought missing the World Cup was still affecting him.

Benzema and Modric are the first two, then I decide depending on who will play.” – concluded Ancelotti.
