Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said tonight that the situation on the fronts is escalating and that Russia is throwing more troops into battle.
Many parts of Ukraine have again become the target of Russian bombardments today. However, Ukrainian forces claim they repelled an attack on Bakhmut, which the Russians have been trying to capture for months.
“The enemy is regrouping in certain zones. He focused his efforts mainly on Kupyansk, Liman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlovka in eastern Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.
Rockets hit Kramatorsk at night, and in the morning Russian artillery shelled Avdiivka.
According to the Ukrainian authorities, over the past day in 26 settlements of the Zaporozhye region, shells hit civilian infrastructure.
The bombing continued in Kherson.
In Bakhmut, Ukrainians claim that they repelled the “attack of the invaders.”
“This week, the Russian occupying forces concentrated all their efforts on the encirclement of Bakhmut and launched a fierce attack on the port area. But thanks to the resistance of our soldiers, they failed,” said Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Mallyar.
