The disaster at the Fukushima NPP on March 11, 2011 is one of the largest in history. The 9.1 magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami with waves over 14 meters high caused significant damage to the station, spilling radioactive material into the ocean.

As a precautionary measure, within hours of the disaster, authorities ordered the evacuation of institutions located within a 20 km radius, thus forcing the relocation of 154,000 people.

Many of them were never able to return home, so some villages remain abandoned and, to put it mildly, ghostly, among destroyed buildings and cars abandoned.

Fukushima: the radioactive car graveyard

On YouTube, several channels are exploring, such as Exploring the Unfaeten Path, which visited the exclusion zone near Fukushima to find out what the area looked like nearly 12 years after the disaster.

Obviously, this exploration is dangerous because radiation levels are still high in some places. In addition, the police have cordoned off some areas that are still too dangerous. During his research, the YouTuber managed to get some interesting cars.

Invalid models

Among them we find several nuggets, such as the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII, completely covered in vegetation, or the Nissan Skyline R32. Added to this is a Nissan 300ZX, several Subaru WRXs and a Porsche 911 Carrera (964) in near-total wreckage. Unfortunately, there have been several robberies in the area and some parts have been stolen.

At the same time, some were badly damaged by the tsunami, while others are visible the level of radiation is too high for export or even for reuse. Most of the models featured in the video will be left to fend for themselves and the ravages of time will continue to take their toll.
