Some electric cars in Romania are more expensive compared to other European countries, and one of the explanations may be related to the Rabla Plus program run by the AFM. With a financial incentive of around 10,000 euros in the country, electric cars are becoming more attractive to customers. But what the Romanian state gives on the one hand, some car manufacturers and dealers take away on the other hand. The end buyer actually pays the full cost of the car. The examples below show how an EV customer in Romania has access to some cars that are more expensive than in the rest of Europe. This is not a complete list, but only a few examples. Conducting an analysis of all brands and models on the market requires huge time resources.

The power, however, rests with the well-informed buyer. Before any order for a new car, it is a good idea to check the price of that car in several countries. If there are differences of several hundred euros, this can be explained by logistical reasons or small differences between the equipment. But if you notice a difference of many thousands of euros, it would be a good idea to ask your dealer more questions and find out why your price is so different.
