
The total number of recipients of social assistance for pensioners in January 2023 was 1,145,867, an increase of 616 compared to the previous month, according to centralized data from the National Public Pension Fund (CNPP) and cited by Agerpres.
Of them, 1,029,805 are pensioners of the budget system, 116,062 are pensioners of the former peasant pension system.
In the case of pensioners from the state system, the average amount of assistance received from the state budget was 423 lei. The highest values were recorded in the counties of Bistrica-Neseud (489 lei), Maramures (487 lei), Cluj (469 lei) and Vranca (469).
The most beneficiaries of this assistance were in Bucharest – 48,384 respectively, and in Suceava (41,815 pensioners) and Dolj (37,597) counties.
As for agricultural pensioners, the average social assistance received from the state budget was 303 lei, the highest value was recorded in the counties of Ilfov (434 lei) and Gorz (393 lei) and in Sector 1 of Bucharest (379 lei). ).
According to the cited source, the largest number of beneficiaries among agricultural pensioners was registered in the counties of Iasi (7,973), followed by Botosani (7,567) and Dolj (7,517).
The CNPP clarifies that beneficiaries of the state pension system, whose income from pensions and benefits combined is lower than 1,125 lei, receive this amount each month, called “Social benefit for pensioners”, in accordance with the provisions of Law no. 196/2009 with subsequent changes and additions.
