Four players are disqualified, a fine and sanctions for the Federation

Defender of Madrid “Atletico” Jose Maria Gimenez and goalkeeper Fernando Muslera are suspended for four matches each and will have to pay 20 thousand euros each, writes Marca.

FIFA was more lenient with Edinson Cavani and Diego Godin, who received one-match bans and fines of €15,000 each.

At the end of the match between Ghana and Uruguay, the players, who are coached by Diego Alonso, protested strongly to the German referee Daniel Siebert, believing that they should have received a penalty kick.

The most ardent was defender Jose Maria Gimenez, who punched a FIFA official on his way to the locker room.

For the behavior of fans in the stands and players on the field, FIFA imposed sanctions on the Uruguayan Football Federation with a fine of 50,000 euros and partial closure of the stadium at the next international match.
