At least one person was killed and four wounded by a man armed with a samurai sword at a church in southern Spain, El Mundo newspaper reported Wednesday, citing police.

The alleged attacker has been arrested, El Mundo adds. The incident happened in a parish in the city of Algeciras.

According to preliminary data, among the victims is a parish priest who is in serious condition.

“The facts are being ascertained and analyzed, but it is not yet possible to determine the nature of the attack,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement. A police spokesman declined to provide further details.
