The rector of the Athens University of Economics and Business, Prof. Dimitris Burantonis, opened the meeting, saying that the conference is now an institution for the country, an institution that brings together all bodies operating in the ecosystem of research, innovation and entrepreneurship. . In addition, the State MP, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Research and Technology, OPA Professor Christos Tarandilis delivered a welcome speech on the first day, who, among other things, mentioned the wonderful initiatives and actions that OPA has developed over the past 20 years for entrepreneurship and innovation. , emphasizing that “supporting innovation has been a strategic priority for the Athens University of Economics and Business.”

On the first day of the Hub, topics related to technology transfer networks, innovation support structures, support initiatives, innovation competitions, financing, seed stage investments and funds, growth funds, innovation in vertical sectors and digital innovation were developed.

On the second day, a presentation was made of the activities of universities and research institutes of the country, as well as international and technological international companies operating in the Greek ecosystem. However, the topic was extended to support initiatives, institutional bodies supporting the innovation ecosystem in Greece, and closed with a special mention of women’s entrepreneurship.

The event was attended by more than 300 participants, including rectors and members of the administrations of the country’s higher education institutions and research centres, members of the wider Greek university and research community, as well as representatives of businesses, organizations and institutions working in the field. entrepreneurship and innovation.

The organization of the conference entitled “Innovation in Greece and the organizations that support it 4.0” highlighted the significant social and economic impact created by the partnership of organizations and organizations working in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation in our country.
