
Two people were killed in a traffic accident that occurred late on Sunday (January 22) on the 1st kilometer of the Kos-Chorion provincial road.
A passenger car with three passengers went off course due to speeding, crashed into a wall and ended up in the garden of a house with lemon and orange trees.
A 25-year-old woman sitting in the back seat was found dead, and a 40-year-old passenger and driver were seriously injured. The 40-year-old man died shortly after being taken to the hospital, and the driver was hospitalized in critical condition.
The two dead, emigrants of Russian origin, were a married couple and lived on Kos. After the clash, a strong fire brigade and EKAV force was found on the spot, evacuating which proved particularly difficult.
The exact causes of the accident have not been clarified and are being investigated by the Traffic Department of Kos.
