Its president opened fire on the prime minister and the official leader of the opposition. PASOK-Movement for Change Nikos Androulakis during his speech tonight in Chalkis. “Mr. Mitsotakis and Tsipras misused the words ‘progress’ and ‘stability’,” he emphasized, stating that “tango with Kammenos, control of the joints of power, interference with independent bodies, fiscal bleeding of the middle class, flight is not the progress of young people abroad and the failure to manage the Recovery Fund as an instrument for general prevention. It is not progress that the national health system established by Paraskevas Avgerinos and Giorgos Gennimatas is being destroyed every day by Mr. Mitsotakis.”
He asked citizens to give a strong, double-digit percentage “so that you have both progress and stability from the first Sunday,” and added: “We have already learned the trick of the false shepherd who shouted: “Wolf, wolf. ‘ So, Mr. Mitsotakis also says, “Tsipras, Tsipras.” But we will not have either Tsipras or Mitsotakis. We will have PASOK and a democratic faction.”
“This is an opportunity to show a different path of political ethics in the next election”
The President of PASOK-Movement for Change stepped up the fire against Alexis Tsipras by commenting on his recent report on the two poles. ND and SYRIZA. “After five years of rule, Mr. Tsipras says that there are two poles: Progress and Law. Where are the far right? After all, we remember that for five years he ruled with the extreme right. Some people think we’re amnestics. We have not forgotten that we got bankrupt Greece from Mr. Karamanlis. We have not forgotten that we told the truth to the people. We have not forgotten that Samaras and Tsipras together fooled the people in order to take a seat in power,” said Mr. Androulakis, setting the stakes in the elections: “This is an opportunity to show a different path of political ethics in the next elections. . Either we will preserve the attitudes that drive the most creative forces of our society to despair, or we will change them, freeing the middle class and the new generation from compromising with mediocrity and decadence.”
Mr. Androulakis referred to a case of illegal surveillance, saying characteristically: “I was left without shouting on the European institutional road: the Greek judiciary, the European Court of Human Rights, the European Parliament and the Greek Parliament. So now those who told me “why don’t you go and get information illegally” are preventing Mr. Rammos from getting information legally in the Greek Parliament. So what are they afraid of? What is Mr. Mitsotakis afraid of and forbids the head of an independent body to go to the Committee on Institutions and Transparency and talk about what he found during his investigation? Mr. Androulakis asked.
“With Mr. Mitsotakis, we have two different fears”
He added that “this case clearly proves that Mr. Mitsotakis and I have two different fears. He is afraid of losing his place, and I am afraid of where this authoritarian governance culture will take the country,” while criticizing SYRIZA’s different attitude. “They have the audacity to talk about the rule of law. Those who said that they not only won the government, but will also win power. We do not expect any lawyer from Mr. Polakis, who himself, like the right today, blew up the independent power created by PASOK,” said Mr. Androulakis.
Regarding the recent revelations by businessman Kalogritsa, Mr. Androulakis said: “Mr. Tsipras had a buddy of his instead. The one who, as a competent minister, distributed not only licenses, but also shares of channels to SYRIZA-friendly businessmen. This is not stability, this is not a prospect, this is not the kind of political spirit that the Greek people need in order to turn the country around.”
Finally, with regard to the ongoing tension in Greek-Turkish relations due to the aggressive statements of the Turkish leadership, the President of PASOK-KINAL criticized the position of Pontius Pilate adopted by the NATO Secretary. “We don’t need Pontius Pilate when a neighbor violates international law. We represent European defense and security. Because our borders are not only the borders of Greece and Turkey, but also the borders of Europe and Turkey,” said Mr. Androulakis.
