Brazilian soccer player Dani Alves has been accused of sexual harassment in Spain.
The judge ordered that he be held without bail. A 39-year-old man is accused of sexually assaulting and raping a woman in a Barcelona nightclub in December.
The judge, who listened to the statements of Alves and the alleged victim, agreed with the prosecutor’s opinion and issued a decision to detain the football player.

On January 2, a 23-year-old woman reported the incident to the footballer. According to the newspaper La Vanguardia, the girl reported Alves to the management of the nightclub, and they contacted the police.
Officers took her to a referral hospital in Barcelona that deals with cases of sexual assault. The woman testified that she also notified the club’s security, and the local police took statements from witnesses.
He denies the allegations
The former Barcelona, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain defender denied the allegations in an interview with Spanish TV channel Antena 3 this month.
