A 42-year-old man was seriously injured after he drove his car into a road structure at a roundabout in the city of Ovidu on the night of Friday to Saturday, causing the car to flip onto its roof and into another parked vehicle on the territory of the gas station.

The Konstanz County Police Inspectorate said in a press release that the traffic police were notified just after midnight of a traffic accident in the town of Ovidiu, at the intersection of the A4 highway with the DN 2A.

“Police officers who went to the scene found that what was reported was confirmed, as a car driven by a 42-year-old man collided with the road structure of the roundabout. As a result of the impact, the car overturned, later it fell onto the ceiling of the premises of the gas station in the area, where it collided with a parked car,” said the press release quoted by Agerpres.

After the accident, the overturned car caught fire, the fire was extinguished by eyewitnesses with the help of fire extinguishers.

As a result of the accident, the driver who was in the car received serious injuries.

According to Ziua de Constanța, the driver is in serious condition after being thrown through the windshield of a car parked at a gas station.

As reported in the Department of Emergency Situations (INS) “Dobrodia”, five brigades of firemen and ambulances were sent to the scene of the accident.
