
On Wednesday, January 18, police officers in Imathia detained a man for extortion and loan sharking.
The arrested man, taking advantage of the financial need of the person who reported him to the authorities, lent him a sum of money at a very high percentage. Then, by threats, he extorted from the borrower the payment of an exorbitant amount in relation to the money lent to him.
During an organized police operation, he was seen receiving an amount of 4,000 euros towards a loan debt.
When it was found and seized:
the above amount of 4000 euros,
a sum of money 350 euros,
three mobile phones
handwritten notes with amounts of credit and debt,
a private informal loan agreement,
The car he was using was also seized.
The police investigation is ongoing to establish his possible involvement in similar criminal acts.
The detainee with the file brought against him is taken to the District Attorney of Berea.
