Relaunched in 2017 after an absence of several decades, the Alpine A110 quickly became a big hit with enthusiasts in France. And it is not for nothing that the small sports car from Dieppe is a worthy descendant of a true automotive legend, and above all, it exhibits very attractive characteristics. Starting with its architecture the rear center of the engine and the propellant, which makes driving a lot of fun. Especially since many versions are now offered in the range, including the new A110 R, the most radical at the moment. But if France is, unsurprisingly, the first market for the berlinetta, with 2,138 units sold in 2022, it is also very popular abroad.

Success in Germany and Great Britain
Indeed, for our German neighbors, the Alpine A110 is quite attractive. In fact, 303 copies were sold domestically, representing a 42% year-over-year sales increase. The same trend in United Kingdom, the third largest market for coupes, with 288 units, an increase of 43%. But what is even more surprising, the sports car is also very popular Japanese customers. Indeed, at least 238 cars were registered there last year, which is a 39% increase. Quite an amazing success, although the brand is not necessarily very well known there.
Thanks to F1
But how to explain it? According to the designer, the popularity of Formula 1 would help the brand become known abroad. Broadcast by BFM TV, Alpine highlights its “ fourth place in F1 in the manufacturer’s world championship, (…) not forgetting the victories in the rally and the place of vice-champion of the world endurance“. As a result, the firm is on a small cloud while it is open 40 additional exhibition halls in 2022, a total of 140 worldwide.
