In the foreground of observation in Perissos.

Another aspect of the case wiretappingwhich as a whole has driven the political system into the thick of violent conflicts for months, will hold its first meeting of the new year and one of the last before the upcoming elections, Parliamentary Institutions and Transparency Committee.

The meeting, which was scheduled for next Thursday, was convened on his initiative. KKE, which was supported by other opposition parties and has as its subject specifically the issue of meetings – monitoring at the call center of the central offices in Perissos. This question, as condemned by the Communist Party, refers to the period of time from 2016, that is, during the reign of SYRIZA-ANEL, until April last year, when it is noted that the “last case” of the hearing was recorded. A new meeting is also in the plans, this time at the initiative of SYRIZA, which formulated a request to summon the current president of ADAE Chr. Rammu. To hold such a meeting, which, according to the rules of the chamber, cannot be held during January, the consent of other opposition parties is also necessary, which is expected in the near future.

Next Thursday, the Committee on Institutions will meet at the request of the KKE in a 2016 case – former ADAE President Chr. Zampiras.

At the request of the KKE, at the meeting on Thursday, invitations for hearings were sent out to: 1) Former ADAE President Chr. Zampira and nine members of the Power Control Group for conspiring to wiretap at the expense of the KKE. These are current and former members of the Plenum G. Bakalis, Univ. Rizomyliotis Sp. Skularikis, N. Papadakis, Dim. Vergado, for heads of special scientific staff at the Univ. Trakada, un-t. Bambali, Vas. Stathopoulos and lawyer Argyro Amidis. 2) the prosecutors who conducted the case of conspiracy and wiretapping against the KKE (G. Knowley, V. Akrivos, H. Mastorantonakis). 3) Retired Lieutenant General, former Secretary General of the Ministry of Citizens’ Protection Kon. Bags. 4) Three persons from the state security agencies who acted within the framework of the prosecutor’s investigation of the KKE case (I. Stoukas, V. Bertano, Af. Prapa). In his request, Perissos states that he reserves the right to request that any other person be summoned if the procedure “determines that it is necessary to be summoned to a hearing before the Commission.”

With regard to the latter, it is anticipated that if this happens, it could be the basis for holding a meeting of the Committee on Institutions and Transparency with Mr. Rammos before February. The assessment is based on a “loophole” that exists in the Rules of Procedure of Parliament: in particular, in Article 41A, which provides for the right of the opposition to invite persons for hearings at committee meetings, there is a phrase that this right “may be exercised once a month in two consecutive meetings “.

Finally, it should be noted that the meeting of the Anti-Corruption Commission plenary meeting scheduled for Friday was postponed to Monday, with the agenda on hot current issues such as the opinion of the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Isidoros Dogiakos.
