Erling Haaland wants to win UEFA Champions League with Manchester City – Zlatan Ibrahimovic, one of the strikers the Norwegian watched as a child

After not scoring a goal in 2023, Erling Haaland was transferred to the Etihad Stadium in the summer of 2022 for just €60 million.

The striker caught the eye of Europe with RB Salzburg before impressing in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund.

Like any self-respecting professional footballer, Erling Haaland sets high goals for himself and wants to win as many trophies as possible with the teams he plays for.

Even if he was not present in the Norwegian national team at the 2022 World Cup, Haaland remains one of the most desirable footballers on the planet.

In an interview with the magazine CityXtraErling Haaland told which strikers he followed and what secrets he has to score as many goals as possible.

“I’m trying to be a little smarter, a little faster, ahead of the guys I’m playing against.

If I do that, I’ll get a second, and by doing that, I might be able to score.

That’s what I always think about.

I will try to do everything in my power to win trophies here with Manchester City and try to change the game.

I hope my goal is to win the Champions League.”

When asked which striker he learned the most from, Haaland didn’t hesitate.

“About Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Robin Van Persie, Jamie Vardy, Sergio Aguero, Lionel Messi, Alvaro Negredo, Edin Dzeko or Mario Balotelli…” Erling Haaland concluded.

Manchester City are currently second in the Premier League, with the reigning champions 8 points behind leaders Arsenal.

In the UEFA Champions League, “townsmen” will meet with RB Leipzig in the 1/8 finals of the competition.
