Residents of Greenfield became victims of a developer who hastened to build neighborhoods without building roads with the help of incompetent local authorities, capital city mayor Nikushor Dan wrote on his Facebook page. He says he does not agree and will not take any steps for a permanent road through the Băneasa Forest

“This is one of hundreds of events on the same block, the consequences of which are felt by the residents of Bucharest, who are stuck in traffic jams. I do not agree and will not move to a permanent road through the forest (especially since the land on both sides of the road is unsoldered by owners who want to build). There is no urban planning documentation that provides for this, and I will not propose it,” Nikushor Dan wrote.

However, the mayor says that, as far as it is legal, he agrees with the temporary decision to cross the forest on the existing forest road until the construction of the final exits to the ring.

“I have full support for the investor’s projects, which involve exits to the ring road. Since 2019, the investor has had preliminary approvals from the PMB for three PUZs, which provide exits from the neighborhood to the ring road. Based on these preliminary approvals, they must obtain approval from other institutions and return to the PMB for approval by the chief architect. He did not return to PMB for two projects. On the third, he came to PMB with full documentation in December 2022,” Nikushor Dan wrote on his Facebook page.

Genmer says that back in 2008, the investor received a permit that provided for two entrances from the ring road, but who should make these entrances – the investor or the authorities – is not specified in the permit.

“Usually, the authorities had to provide a public transport plan together with an action plan that would condition the issuance of permits for the construction of roads at the expense of the investor. The investor received another PUZ in 2019, for the second stage of development, much larger than the previous one, without other access roads,” Nikushor Dan also wrote.
