“I am a bit pessimistic about the demographic evolution. If the economy can be fixed, that is unfortunately not the case in demography. If a political solution was enough in the totalitarian system, as it was in 1967, the birth rate is increasing, it has increased to half a million, it has doubled, now it is no longer possible. Unfortunately, according to the latest data for 2020, 2021, we will have 143 grandparents who have 100 children under the age of 15. 20-30 years ago it was the opposite. Practically now there will be grandparents who will not have children. This means major imbalances in the labor market and pensions,” explained INS head Andrii Tudorel.
