Nio presented two new models at the event Nio Day 2022held in Hefei, China: an electric SUV coupe Nio EC7as well as a new generation of a large electric SUV Nio ES8with 6 seats on board.
Measuring 5.10 meters long, 1.99 meters wide and 1.75 meters tall, all on a 3.07 meter wheelbase, the Nio ES8 has a smooth and substantial style with elegant lines and flush handles. It has some interesting stylistic features, such as the side cameras integrated into the front wings, the rear wiper hidden in the spoiler, or the B and C pillars integrated into the windows, giving it a more fluid profile.

Inside, it’s a true premium lounge with a first row of two 20-way adjustable, massage, heated and ventilated front seats, a second row of ‘Lounge’ seats that can be reclined and extended. like a real living room and a central armrest, then the third row with two comfortable seats that complement each other.
At the front, the ES8 is equipped with a panoramic “PanoCinema” digital cockpit, which has a built-in assistant called Nomi and equipped with artificial intelligence or a central 12.8-inch AMOLED touchscreen. Nio ES8: range up to 900 km
Under the hood, we find no less than two powerful electric motors with a combined power 653 horsepower (480 kW), allowing the ES8 to swallow Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds only. This mechanism combines a high-performance asynchronous motor with a capacity of 408 horsepower (300 kW) and a high-efficiency permanent magnet motor with a capacity of 245 horsepower (180 kW).
Three battery levels are available: 75, 100 and 150 kWhwhich allows you to offer up to Range of 465, 605 and 900 kmrespectively, according to the CLTC cycle.
Nio ES8: concentration of technology
The Nio ES8 is equipped with no fewer than 33 high-performance sensors, including cameras and LiDAR, to offer numerous semi-autonomous driving functions thanks to a supercomputing platform based on four Nvidia Orin X chips.
The Nio ES8 is priced from RMB 528,000 (approx 71,200 euros) with a 75 kWh battery, RMB 586,000 (about €79,000) with a 100 kWh battery and RMB 458,000 (about €61,700) with a BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) battery rental. The ES8 is already available to order in China, with deliveries scheduled for a month June 2023. The European launch should take place during 2023.
