
The Ministry of Enterprise and Tourism announced on Wednesday that Romania has 35 new tourist resorts of local interest. Among them are communes from the counties of Cluj, Maramures, Bihor, as well as the “tourist zone of the municipality of Caracal” from the county of Olt and the city of Darmenest from the county of Bacău.
According to the quoted source, the government decided on Wednesday to approve the certification of some settlements or parts of settlements as tourist resorts of local importance, that is about 35 new tourist resorts of local importance. Currently, 54 tourist resorts of national importance and 147 of local importance are certified in Romania.
- “Romania has 35 new tourist resorts of local importance. From now on, they will be able to enjoy new development opportunities, among which I mention the attraction of investors and financing, to maximize the potential of the territories and, very importantly, to increase the number of visitors. - Destinations that have been granted a new status will be able to be part of the reform of destination management organizations, now having the opportunity, in accordance with the minimum criteria, to create and implement such an institution at the local level,” said the Minister. of entrepreneurship and tourism, Daniel Kadariou.
The Ministry of Tourism also notes that based on requests and documentation provided by local self-government bodies, it verified the fulfillment of legal criteria, including visits to the territory, and the following settlements received the status of tourist resorts of local importance:
- Barkani commune, Covasna district;
- Belish Commune, Cluj County;
- Bikaz city, Neamts district;
- tourist zone of Bratka commune, Bihor district;
- Buduryasa-Padish Tourist Zone of Buduryasa Commune, Bihor County;
- tourist zone of Karakal municipality, Alt district;
- Chokenest commune, Suceava county;
- Chiumani Commune, Harghita County;
- tourist zone of the city of Comenesti, Bacău county;
- Kosna commune, Suceava county;
- Cugir-Șureanu tourist area of Cugir, Alba County;
- city of Darmenest, county of Bacau;
- Gmina Deda, County Mureş;
- tourist zone of Fegarash municipality, Brasov county;
- tourist zone of the Feltychen municipality, Suceava county;
- Ineu city, Arad county;
- tourist zone of Lupeni commune, Harghita county;
- Măguri – Răcătău commune, Cluj county;
- Menestyria Humorului commune, Suceava county;
- Mergau Commune, Cluj County;
- Ozun commune, Kovasna district;
- tourist zone of Pietroasa commune, Bihor county;
- Valea Drăganului tourist area of Poieni commune, Cluj county;
- Runku commune, Gorzh district;
- Secuieu Commune, Cluj County;
- Commune of Selasu de Sous, County of Hunedoara;
- Salishtia de Sous city, Maramures county;
- the tourist zone of the city of Siret, Suceava County;
- Sugag Commune, Alba County;
- tourist zone of Șuncuiuş commune, Bihor county;
- tourist zone of Tirgu-Sekuesk municipality, Kovasna district;
- tourist zone of Vanatori-Neamts commune, Neamts county;
- Vaideeni commune, Vilcha county;
- tourist zone of Vulcan municipality, Hunedoara district;
- Vidra commune, Alba county.
“In the medium and long term, the certification of these settlements as resorts of local importance will create a positive impact by increasing the tourist flow and at the same time the turnover of tourist investors. Taking into account the multiplier effect of tourism in related sectors of the economy, such as transport, construction, agriculture, crafts and retail trade, the implementation of tourism development projects in settlements certified as tourist resorts will create a favorable impact on economic development and improve the quality of life of the residents of these territories,” the Ministry of Tourism adds.
