From March 1, the city of Toulouse became a EPZ, like many other municipalities such as Paris, Rouen and Strasbourg. A measure aimed at reducing the number of cars that are considered too old and therefore polluting. They are then discriminated against because of their Crit’air sticker, as those with a rating of 4 or higher will no longer be able to move around the city from January 1st of the following year. So far, this measure applies only to minibuses and heavy weight. Nevertheless, a concession will be introduced for some motorists, in particular small drivers who rarely use their old cars.

A letter to the town hall

Then the disgruntled driver decided to take up the pen and write a letter to the city hall of Toulouse to demand compensation. The latter then explains to La Dépêche du Midi that “ Last April I wrote to Toulouse City Hall to find out if there were any alternatives. I explained to them that I don’t have much money. I was told that this is a European obligation […] I will be contacting a lawyer to get a refund. It is not normal that under the pressure of the people we retreat 15 days earlier! And I’m sure there will be news deduction in the following years“. It remains to be seen how this story will end…
