Minister of Investments and European Projects Marcel Bolosh announced that he transferred a new tranche of 250 lei, the fourth, to social cards offered through the “Support Romania” program.

“I am happy to announce that we managed to transfer 250 lei of aid to 2.4 million Romanian beneficiaries of the Support Romania program.” The Ministry of European Investments and Projects transferred approximately 600 million lei, European money, which should arrive on every existing card no later than Wednesday,” Bolosh wrote on Facebook.

According to him, “it was necessary to make the payments before Christmas, so that vulnerable sections of the population could receive a little help, so that traditional products would not be missing from the festive table.”

He reminds that vulnerable Romanians will receive six new tranches of aid for a total of 1,500 lei next year.

Next year, 2.4 million food card beneficiaries will also receive social vouchers worth 250 lei every 2 months,

according to some extraordinary decrees adopted on December 8 on this occasion.

“The maximum amount of income up to which compensation for the increase in food prices is granted has been increased from 1,500 to 1,700 lei.

Thus, the number of food card beneficiaries is 2.4 million beneficiaries. The cost of one tranche is 600 million lei, and 50% of this money will come from EU funds,” Bolos said on December 8.

In addition, on December 8, GEO at the government meeting also adopted a measure aimed at compensating the energy price of 1,400 lei per year in 2 equal parts of 700 lei each, in February 2023 and September 2023.
