The statements came after the Turkish Defense Ministry announced that Greek fighter jets, according to Ankara, “attempted to interfere with a NATO training mission” in the Aegean.

The statement also said that “the Turkish Air Force gave them the necessary answer … and the NATO mission was successfully completed.”

The Turkish president said he told officials to “do whatever is necessary… if Greece continues to deviate,” repeating his threat: “One night we may come suddenly.”

At the same time, he said that Turkey’s recent ballistic missile test “frightens” Athens.
