The campaign aims to be a business environment where companies can help free redirection of 20% corporate taxon the basis of a sponsorship agreement, as well as individuals who can choose to make a donation of €2 per month by sending SMS with the text “HABITAT” to the number 8845.

With the funds received in December 2021, this year the organization built 14 houses from scratch and continued work on 8 other houses with the support of volunteers in 3 districts of the country (Bakeu, Prahova and Constanta). But the national need for decent and affordable housing remains a challenge that requires immediate action.

According to the data provided by National Institute of Statistics, a quarter of the Romanians they live in houses without their own sanitary facilities as well 1 out of 10 Romanians he lives day by day in a house where the rain falls through the roof, water flows through the walls and he breathes moisture.

At the same time, almost half of the country’s population (45.8%) lives in overcrowded housing, reports Eurostat. many children who also suffer the most from not having a place of their own where Alone at Home.

“For the most part, we do not realize that a house, a home, is something more than a living space. This is the first step towards normality, self-confidence and true integration into society. We firmly believe that each of us deserves a place in society that we belong to, and that sometimes it’s up to us to help them find it. That’s why we’re asking for your help so we can continue to build this place we call home for families who need us.” say Roberto Petrashkou, National Director of Habitat for Humanity Romania.

The campaign was developed together with TheNEW agency, and the plot was also illustrated by video manifestowhich shows an ordinary day in the life of a child who feels the lack of a decent home, a place of his own.

“I assumed that at home you learn that you have your own place. At home you learn who you are and who you can become, home is a safe space vital for the harmonious development of each of us. The harsh reality shows that most children facing housing problems in Romania face similar problems in social interactions and that it is more difficult for them to find their place in other contexts of everyday life. This is the story told by the Habitat for Humanity campaign in Romania through this year’s campaign film.” explains Maia Stefanescu, TheNEW’s senior copywriter.

In addition to the effective collection of funds, which are absolutely necessary for building houses, Habitat for Humanity Romania aims through this campaign to: raising awareness Of bad conditions where many vulnerable families from Romania live.
