According to Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, Kyiv air defense systems shot down at least 10 Iranian drones on Wednesday morning. Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that Ukrainian air defense shot down “all 13 drones” launched by Russia, AFP reports.
A new attack on the capital of Ukraine took place early in the morning, waking Kyivans from sleep.
Two administrative buildings of the city of Kyiv in the Shevchenkiv district were damaged by “remains of a drone”, the authorities said, The Guardian reports.
Maria Avdeeva, director of research at the Association of European Experts in Ukraine, published on Twitter an image of one of the downed drones in Kyiv.
This morning, Russia attacked Kyiv and Zhytomyr with Iranian Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones. As of now, air defense has shot down 10 drones. On the wreckage of one of the Shaheds shot down over the center of Kyiv is the inscription “Za Ryazan”. pic.twitter.com/K3FHRlLLbY

And Ukrainian parliamentarian Kira Rudik published a photo of a drone that fell in the capital of Ukraine.
The drone that hit #Kyiv has the words “for Ryazan” (a city in Russia). So let’s put it this way: one terrorist regime buys drones from another and then tries to kill us while pretending to defend their OWN cities. How crazy is that. pic.twitter.com/hjRRWW997P

Revenge of the Kremlin: For Rezan
It read “For a reason,” suggesting it was Moscow’s revenge for a Ukrainian drone attack ten days earlier on two airfields in Russia, both of which are used by the Moscow Air Force as bases for strategic bomber units.
The first explosion occurred at the Diaghilev military airport near the city of Reazan, located approximately 185 kilometers southeast of Moscow.
This Russian military air base is located 450 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
The second explosion, which has not yet been reported by Russian state media, occurred at the Engels air base near Saratov in southern Russia.
Ukraine would be able to influence strategic bomber aviation. Russia claims that the Ukrainian attack was carried out by Soviet drones and that at least three people were killed in the strikes.
This is not the first case of an attack on Kyiv. Russia launched several missile strikes on the capital, Kyiv.
The most intense crackdown came in October, when six people were killed and more than 50 injured, apparently in retaliation after President Vladimir Putin declared the Kerch Bridge bombing a “terrorist attack.”
