
A Bucharest court granted a review request by former liberal leader Bohdan Olteanu, former president of the Chamber of Deputies and former vice-governor of the National Bank of Romania, who was sentenced to five years in prison in 2020 in the case of the appointment of Liviu Mihai as governor of the Danube Delta Administration. reports News.ro.
On Wednesday, the Bucharest court decided to grant the review request submitted by Bohdan Olteanu.
Thus, the court decided to terminate the criminal proceedings against Bohdan Oltyan for committing the crime of abuse of influence, committed from July to November 2018.
The decision is not final and may be appealed within ten days of notification.
Bohdan Olteanu was finally sentenced to five years in prison on October 29, 2020 in the case of the appointment of Liviu Mihaj to the post of governor of the Danube Delta Administration.
In August of this year, he was released from prison by the final decision of the Court of Appeal of Bucharest.
