On the night from Saturday to Sunday, a group of young people informed a crew of gendarmes patrolling the Strand Neptune area in the municipality of Arad that one of them had been robbed of money after an unknown man grabbed him by the waist, took his wallet, and he returned it, but without the 300 lei he had in it. Another young man later filed a similar complaint, the Aradad gendarmerie said, according to local specialarad.ro.

“Following the reports provided by two young people, Arad gendarmes continued checking the area and quickly identified a 33-year-old man. They began to legitimize and exercise physical control over him. The 33-year-old man admitted that he took the wallets of the two young men, but he no longer has the 300 lei he stole from the first young man, as he spent them in a restaurant,” the quoted report said. .

The man explained in detail to the gendarmes how he stole the wallets: “the Maradona method”:

  • “I took one from here, like, from my belt, because I said I knew him, I took his wallet, took 300 lei from him and left, as they call it there. I drank, I gave money for music. I kiss your hand, thank you!
  • – How much money did you take from him?
  • -300 lei.
  • – Come on, turn your back, let’s see!
  • – With this T-shirt with glitter.
  • – Come on, come back! What is the name of the method by which…?
  • – Maradona!
  • – Where did you learn that?
  • -In France! – Do you have any more…? -No! This is the first time, the last time!
  • – Second, when did you take the wallet?
  • -The second person was with us in the group. I took the blond from here, took his wallet, held him behind his back like this and put it on his phone: Hey, look, it’s me, it’s your wallet, I didn’t even look in it and nothing. I kiss your hand, thank you very much!”
