
After “French dispatch“, Wes Anderson back with a new movie”asteroid citywhich is expected to premiere in theaters in the summer of 2023.
In particular, the production studio Focus Features has scheduled the release of the film on June 16, 2023 in select theaters with an extension on June 23.
On a limited theatrical release date, Asteroid City is shown alongside the Flash adventure comic. A week after the premiere of Anderson’s film, Disney will release Indiana Jones and the Disc of Destiny on the big screen.
Asteroid City, set in 1950, has been described as “a poetic reflection on the meaning of life”. The film is set in a fictional American desert town during a Young Stargazers/Space Cadets Convention where chaos ensues as the event gathers students and parents from all over the country for academic competition and other activities.
Anderson wrote the script for the film together with director, producer, businessman Roman Coppola. As for the cast, there are both familiar faces that have appeared in Anderson’s films again, as well as new ones. These are: Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Scarlett Johansson, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Adrien Brody, Rupert Fred, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Rita Wilson and others.
