Portugal beat Uruguay 2-0 to advance to the eighth group and qualify for the World Cup play-offs. The Iberians made two out of two and with six points became the third team after France and Brazil to reach the round of 16 in Qatar.

Celeste’s first good moment was in the 3rd minute with Oliveira. The Iberians responded with a volley of Carvalho after a pass from Cristiano Ronaldo.
