The Ukrainian operator notes that “this is a necessary measure to protect the power grid from other man-made accidents and maintain the system in working order.”

For its part, the Ukrainian operator of the NPP “Energoatom” announced the emergency shutdown of reactors at three such stations – Yuzhnoukrainskaya, Khmelnytskyi and Rivneskaya. “At the moment, they are working in the project mode, without producing energy for the national energy system,” Energoatom notes.
