Simultaneously with the Official Gazette, the Ministry of Development changed the list of products, while establishing more specific rules for both the labeling of these products and their adequacy.

In particular, there has been a slight change in the list of products as “baby formula (baby food)” has been replaced with “baby cream” and “baby milk (baby food)” is now simply “baby milk”.

At the same time, informing consumers about the goods in the “household basket” is mandatory through a special label placed on the goods either in their physical or electronic trading area, or in any way through which the goods are advertised to the consumer.

A special mark should be placed next to the purchase price of each product included in the “household basket” on the shelf on a separate tab. The tag has a square or rectangular shape with dimensions not less than eight (8) centimeters x eight (8) centimeters or a round shape with a diameter not less than eight (8) centimeters. The obligation to apply the above dimensions of the special sign begins from December 1, 2022.

In addition, a clear list/catalogue of the goods that make up the household basket, as well as the prices at which the goods are offered, is posted at the entrance to each store.

Finally, supermarkets must ensure that the goods declared in the “household basket” are in sufficient quantity in their stores and reach consumers without interruption.

If one or more stores run out of stock in a home basket, supermarkets will temporarily replace the out-of-stock item with a similar item available at the same or lower price and in the same or more quantity.
