Hotz will work alongside Musk for three months to improve the social network’s search engine.

“From a hiring perspective, people who can code are a top priority,” Twitter’s new owner said during a meeting with those remaining at the company.

In recent weeks, the platform has laid off about 7,500 employees, or two-thirds of its global workforce, to be exact.

From the same meeting, according to representatives of the media, including The Verge, it became clear that soon each employee will have to send Musk once a week updated information about the progress of the tasks received.

According to the entrepreneur, the reorganization of the company will initially bring chaos and “many mistakes”, but “it will stabilize over time.”

There is no shortage of help from the developer community to try to make Twitter a more fun and safe platform. Like Moxie Marlinspike, the founder of the messaging app Signal, which reportedly proposed to protect user-to-user private messages.

This is the same technology that prevents WhatsApp chats and other services from being read by third parties, including governments or professional hackers, because they are encrypted.
